New in EU Login mobile app: multiple accounts support

Valid for

The EU Login mobile app now supports multiple accounts, allowing users to authenticate to several EU Login accounts from a single device.

EU Login offers several second-factor authentication methods. While some methods (such as security keys or trusted platforms) can already be used across multiple accounts, the EU Login mobile app was until now limited to a single account per device.

Why this change?

The previous limitation meant that users with multiple EU Login accounts needed separate devices if they wanted to use the mobile app as their second factor for each account.

With the introduction of multi-account support, this constraint is removed. Users can now use one device to authenticate multiple accounts, instead of needing one device per account.

This provides a more flexible, practical, and user-friendly authentication experience.

Who benefits?

Normally, you only need one EU Login account. It is easier to manage and helps keep your information, settings, and activity all in one place.

However, this new feature streamlines authentication for:

  • people with both corporate European-Institution and personal accounts;
  • people working across multiple EU institutions or domains;
  • any other people interacting with EU services under different contexts.

How it works

  1. Update the EU Login mobile app to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play .
  2. Add your different EU Login accounts to the mobile app on your device, as needed.
  3. The app then creates a separate zone for each account.
  4. When you are ready to authenticate, select the appropriate account.

If you only have one EU Login account, you can continue using the app as before.

Attention
You are strongly recommended to configure additional authentication methods for each of your EU Login accounts in case you lose access to your mobile device. To do so, follow the instructions in the link: What second factor can I configure with my account?
