What second factor can I configure with my account?

Account Type

EU Login Mobile App

Download and install the EU Login mobile application for iOS or Android and use it with the PIN Code (requiring an internet connection) or the QR code scanning (can be used offline).

Security Key or Trusted Platform

You may authenticate in EU Login using a Security Key or your device's Trusted Platform Module.

Electronic Identity Card or eID

Depending on your National Administration, you may be able to use the eID authentication feature of EU Login.

Mobile phone number - Being phased out

You may add one or more mobile phone numbers to your EU Login account so to receive one-time-passwords via SMS. Note however that this verification method was assessed  as being not secure enough, and will therefore be removed in the future. 

Please prefer alternative verification methods presented above.

For internal users, please note that your phone number is managed through your HR system (SYSPER, Streamline...).

Token - For EC users only

A VASCO Token (for EC users) or a CRAM Token (specific to DG CLIMA users) can be used to authenticate with the corresponding EU Login feature.

 

 

Note that depending on the application you are trying to reach, not all options may be available.
