Please follow these simple steps to confirm your account type:
- Open the EU Login page
- Enter your email address or unique identifier and click next
- See the results. In this case you should read the name of your organisation between parenthesis under your unique identifier. The screenshot on the right shows a European Commission employee account.

You can create an EU Login account only with an email address that does not belong to a European Institution (ending with "europa.eu"). The EU Login account linked to your European Institution email address is by default created by your HR department, you cannot create it yourself.
Yes, the EU Login Mobile app is free and can be obtained from the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
After installing it, you need to initialise it. To do so, you need a PC in addition to your mobile device.

In case you do not have internet connectivity on your smartphone or mobile device, you can still use the EU Login mobile app with the QR code, or other multi-factor authentications options.
EU Login uses of the Single sign-on (SSO) authentication scheme which allows users to log in once and access services without re-entering authentication factors. EU Login has also implemented the Adaptative Authentication mechanism. Please click on the question link for more information.
When you log out of EU Login, it does not affect any website or application for which you are already identified. However, if you log out of the application, when you log in to it again, it will recheck your identity with EU Login, and you will have to identify yourself again.
Depending on the application you are trying to access, not all log in options may be available. Each application using EU Login as authentication system can choose the methods made available to their users, EU Login has no control on that aspect.
