Can I merge two EU Login accounts?

Account Type

The only account type that can be merged is an account generated with your eID. Those accounts can be merged with an External account you created yourself, or a corporate account from a European Institution.

In case you did not actively link your eID to your already existing EU Login account, and you only authenticated via EU Login with your eID, the system will automatically create an additional EU Login account: the eID account mentioned below.

Please pay particular attention that following the below process will in fact delete your eID account and link your eID to your other EU employee or External account. Note that, once reconciliation is completed, the virtual account created  with the eID will no longer exist. As such, you may lose access rights and data saved in services that only knew you by your “eID account”.

You can merge you eID account with another account either starting from the eID account or from the other account.

From your eID account:

  1. Log in your account and navigate to “Link my eID
  2. Enter the credentials of your other account (corporate or external)
  3. Once successfully authenticated, the system will confirm that your eID has correctly been linked and you will be logged in with the other account

From your other account:

  1. Log into your account and navigate to “Manage my eIDs
  2. Click on “Link my eID” then follow the usual process for authenticating with your eID
  3. Once successfully authenticated, the system will confirm that your eID has correctly been linked to your other account

In case you encounter access issues or if you lost files in some applications after executing the above operation, please get in touch with the support team of  the concerned application.
