How can I add my eID to my EU Login account?

Depending on your country's participation in EU digital initiatives, you may be able use your national electronic identity as a second factor for logging in with EU Login. This article will help you set it up.

EU Login currently allows you to log in directly with your eID without having to create an account first. This may have significant consequences, please read the below preliminary remark in case you have used this mechanism.

Instructions

Watch the video tutorial or access instructions illustrated step by step below the video.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Connect your eID to your computer using a card reader first. Alternatively you may use a National eID mobile application e.g. ITSME for Belgian eID.
